Complex Learning

Empower the digital competences applying Complex Learning with social networks

social-media-marketing

Technology, when used correctly, can help us learn better, more efficiently and creatively and to access wider more up-to-date knowledge.

There is an urgent need to boost digital skills and competences in Europe. Rapid digital change in our society and economy means more demand for digital skills and competences. Education and training must address this need. Less than half of children are in schools which are highly equipped digitally – and only 20-25% of them are taught by teachers who are confident using technology in the classroom. Between 50% and 80% of students never use digital textbooks, exercise software or learning games.

This course introduces the basic concepts to learn using the web tools for educational purposes to find, build and share information and knowledge: Wikipedia, Google, Facebook, Youtube, Scribd, Slideshare and others!

But first of all the course guides teachers to empower the digital competences as they are provided by the official DIGICOMP: the Digital Competence Framework for Citizens.

Participants will be actively involved in guided activities experiencing the mode of communication and interaction for educational purposes on the web. During the course participants will use minimized lectures, online workshops, guided discussions and group work. At the end of each day there will be a moment of individual self-assessment, at the end of the course there will be a session for collective evaluation and peer review. The methodology proposed is that of Complex Learning.

Learning Community will supply the following materials:

  • detailed course program;
  • articles and essays about Complex Learning;
  • didactic material (presentations, resources, sources, etc.)

After the course participants will have the opportunity to continue to interact in the online space of social networks used for the course activities, creating a community of practice where to share ideas, practices, solutions.
